I’m Mark Elliott, former pub owner. As a pub relief manager, I come into your pub and look after your business like it’s my own. Giving you the chance to take a break, whatever your reasons are. I have extensive experience in all aspects of pub ownership and management, the small jobs along with the big stuff. I give you peace of mind that your pub is in great hands while you’re away. Undertaking stays of 1 week to 3 months, or even longer if that’s what you need.

I’ve been working in the hotel industry for over 15 years as both a pub owner and pub manager. As a relief publican, you can be assured that I’m experienced in all aspects of hotel operations including:

I know what it takes to run pubs of all sizes and have over 15 years experience to back me up. I relate well to people and this translates to getting along well with staff and all types of clientele.

Some of the qualities that make me a great relieving publican include being outgoing, reliable, trustworthy, punctual, approachable and flexible – easily adapting to any situation.

I’ve got the certificates for being a publican, for TAB and gaming, and I have RSA certificates for all states of Australia.

I pride myself on creating a great atmosphere, having a good general knowledge for chatting to the clientele, displaying consistently high quality standards, excellent presentation, and a great knowledge of food, beers and wines and good old fashioned values.

The process for hiring me

I understand that it’s a hard decision to leave your hotel with someone else running the show.

That’s why we start with a chat, either in person, if you’re nearby, or on the phone. I tell you a bit about who I am and what I do. I find out from you, what you need and your booking times. We both need to know that we’re a good fit to work together.

Once we’ve gotten to know each other a little bit and I understand what you’re looking for, then I put together a quote for you. From there, we get you booked in.
